Email Marketing
Sending emails to targeted customer lists continues to top the checklist for generating business-to-business sales leads. Email marketing generated a return on investment of $51 per dollar spent in 2006, compared to non-email Web marketing at $21 per dollar spent, according to a MarketingSherpa study. More than 83 percent of marketers used email as part of their campaigns in 2007.
Still, there are many hurdles to producing an effective email campaign, such as compliance with federal anti-spam legislation, overcoming site-specific spam filters, effective targeting, and avoiding email deletion by overwhelmed customers.
